Project Aurora Case Study: Warburtons

In 2008 SEVEN worked alongside Warburtons to implement new purchasing procedures suported by a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) solution using SAP's SRM software.

After a successful pilot, the SRM project was delivered two months early, significantly under budget and with the minimum of business disruption. More importantly, the procurement savings that the project enabled managed to generate a 100% Return on Investment within 6 months of go-live and should continue to generate purchasing savings this year of £1million; over 330% greater than the cost of the project. It also allowed Warburtons to reconcile their supplier base and reduce them by 1,500.

This project is a great example of how with the right guidance and teamwork, IT and business can work together to successfully achieve outstanding results that deliver tangible benefits and financial value.

Warburtons was so pleased with the SRM project for its quick return on investment and acceptance within the business that they entered it into the Corporate IT Forum’s Real IT Awards 2008. The project was entered into the “Delivering IT Value” category, up against other companies such as British Airways, Schroder’s and the British Council, and came a very credible second place.
